The clay can be mixed at a 1:1 ratio May may be mixed with purified water or your favorite facial oil.

Clay has been used for many years in the beautification of skin. Each clay has its own unique characteristics making each one enjoyable to experiment with. Many of these clays are used in our skincare line Bloom Botanica Botanica Skincare as well as our handmade soaps.

These clays can be purchased as a gift set of five, separately, or a gift set which comes in a nice box and a facial mask brush. (The colors of the mask brush will vary depending on what we have in stock)

Serbian Blue Clay: Also known as Cambrian Blue Clay is one of my favorites. Aside from the lovely color this anti-inflammatory clay helps to stimulate the growth of skin cells and collagen. It is also known to reduce the appearance of blood vessels that are close to the skin surface. It removes impurities and is a natural Exfoliant. Serbian blue clay has healing properties which nourish the skin may reduce blemishes as well as acne scarring and even helps with dermatitis and eczema. This clay can be used in a variety of facial masks, body wraps, scrubs, soap making, creams etc.

Brazilian Purple Clay: Another beautifully colored clay, Brazilian purple clay helps to remove impurities, and promotes hair & skin’s ph balance without the hydrating the skin. It has been shown to have antioxidant as well as antiaging properties and if you do some research you’ll see that many studies have shown that it actually repairs the cuticle of the hair. It is very rich and minerals. This clay is an anti-aging clay that is very high in magnesium, copper & selenium. I recommend this clay for all skin types but particularly for dry and sensitive skin. Again this clay can be used in masks, skin care products, soaps, creams etc.

Brazilian Yellow Clay: Brazilian yellow clay also known as golden clay has been used for centuries for cosmetics as well as present traditional beauty regimen.
Yellow clay has many therapeutic and cosmetic properties including anti-aging, antioxidant, drying, detoxifying, as well as an astringent. It improves The skins elasticity and promotes skin and hair health without dehydrating the skin. Yellow clay is very rich and silicon dioxide which helps to slow down the signs of skin‘s aging. This clay is a wonderful one to be used in soaps add about 1 teaspoon of clay for 1 pound of the soap mixture. Helpful hint* Always fold the soap over the Clay powder before using your blender.

European French Green Clay: European French green clay is another wonderful clay recommended for blemish prone and oily skin types. It is also known as sea clay. This clay has magnesium, calcium, potassium among many other healing elements. This clay can be used on oily hair types to draw toxins & excess oils from the hair.
As most clays this is also great for exfoliating dead skin cells, firming and toning the skin, and the healing of blemishes. Another aspect of this clay is to mix a little bit with water and place over insect bites & superficial cuts & scrapes.

Rose Pink Clay: Rose clay also known as rose pink clay is one of my absolute favorites. Besides for all the amazing benefits it has, it can also be used as a blush for your cheeks. It’s such a soft pretty color without all the icky “unnecessaries” .
ORose clay benefits dry and sensitive skin types. It polishes and exfoliate the skin leaving the skin brighter without the use of chemical exfoliants. Rose clay does not cause redness or irritation to the skin. It is a mild clay that is rich in minerals. It reduces inflammation of the skin, helps sooth irritation and helps to increase the skin’s circulation.

Helpful Hint.... When it comes to using clays as a mask, start out with about three minutes but NEVER longer than 20 minutes. It is best to not let the clay completely dry on the skin. You never want to leave a clay mask on too long, because it can change & upset the pH balance of the skin. Also, remember that with clays you should never use any metal utensils, bowls etc. to mix the masks.

-Although few people have any kind of reaction to this natural product if you have sensitive skin it is always a good to do a small patch test on the inside soft skin of the arm
